Khartoum to host International Water Forum next week

Rabat (IINA) – The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO); Sudan's Remote Sensing and Seismological Science Authority; Regional Centre for Remote Sensing of North African States; and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils will jointly hold the 2nd International Forum on Water harvesting Social, Economic and Environmental Impacts in Khartoum on September 26-27.
The two-day forum, to be held at the headquarters of the National Research Center in the Sudanese capital, aims to provide an opportunity for scientists and researchers in the field of water to exchange experiences, and look at the results of research on water scarcity and ways of rainwater harvesting. It also aims to learn about the latest techniques used to reclaim land, develop effective policies to address the problems of poor water management, and reduce the social impacts of conflicts around water resources.
Participants in the forum include water sector officials and experts in this field from a number of scientific institutions and universities in ISESCO member states.
