Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan to sign Contract of Additional Studies on Renaissance Dam on Tuesday



Khartoum (IINA) – Chair of the tripartite National Committee on Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) Prof. Saif Eddin Hamad Abdalla said the 12th meeting of the committee, comprising Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan, will take place in Khartoum next Tuesday, to celebrate the signing of the contract of the additional studies on the GERD recommended by the panel of international experts.
He said two French consultancy firms, BRLi and Artelia, won the contract for carrying out technical studies on both the downstream states, pointing out that the two studies would include modeling and simulation of the water resources, the hydroelectricity generation and the assessment of the social, environmental and economic impact across the borders.
Prof. Abdalla said the ministers of water resources and irrigation from the three countries will honor the signing ceremony event, according to Sudan News Agency (SUNA).
