CCIB warns against Islamophobia in Belgium

Brussels, (IINA) - The Collective against Islamophobia in Belgium (CCIB) stated in Le Soir newspaper on Monday that a “series of Islamophobic events during the summer is feeding the current climate”.
"Islamophobia is a stepping stone for both the far right and the propaganda of the ISIS group. The repetition of these controversies risks leading to the dismissal of Muslim citizens, warns Vice- President of CCIB Hajib Al-Hajjaji.
He believes that Islamophobia is a breeding ground for radicalization. "If we want to fight radicalization, we need a comprehensive plan against racism, including Islamophobia," The Brussels times reported quoting Al-Hajjaji.
He added that we cannot "remain indifferent to the flood of racist comments on social media”. The organization favors a comprehensive plan against racism and Islamophobia (hatred and prejudice directed against Muslims and Islam).
