Bahrain, Russia sign series of cooperation agreements



Moscow (IINA) – Bahrain and Russia signed four cooperation agreements on economic, military and oil fields, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who is currently visiting Russia.
These included an agreement on the establishment of a joint governmental committee for commercial, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, and an agreement on military cooperation, as well as two memoranda of understanding between Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Holding Company and both the Russian Gazprom and Rosgeologia.
The Bahraini king and Russian president had held official talks at the Kremlin Palace, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop and enhance them in all fields. They also discussed the latest developments at the regional and international levels, particularly the developments in the Middle East. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining the regional and international peace and security, in addition to fighting terrorism and extremism.
