Mayor of Toronto participated in the "Ramadan charity project"

Toronto (Ina) Mayor of the City of Toronto, John Torrey participated in a campaign to help the needy launched by some members of the Muslim community last weekend in preparation for the holy month ofRamadan, according to the website published the newspaper "Toronto tongue." 
He joined Toure to a number of Muslim volunteers Center and the Islamic Ever on Saturday to help them in the framework of "charitable Ramadan project", an initiative set up in order to provide food items will donate them to the center and to other charities. 
According to organizers, it has been prepared more than 1,000 basket last Saturday. 
a statement issued by the organizers : "this project was launched in 2009, works to collect donations to help the needy through the provision of a basket of basic food materials , regardless of race, sex or color. the goal first and last of this project is to provide healthy meals and balanced food during this holy month." 
for his part, Toure said that this initiative "seeks to build bridges of communication , " not only among members of the Muslim community, but between Muslims and non - Muslims who are in need of aid. 
he said this initiative "this is a wonderful example of how to build bridges between individuals, because members of the Muslim community are extending a helping hand to others regardless of their religion, they assure us their interest in the rest of the members of Canadian society. " 
He added the mayor that initiatives such as the " charitable Ramadan project "fighting ideas fallacy deployed for the Islamic religion and Islamic culture and customs. 
He continued:" I know that there are still individuals in the community have wrong about the Islamic religion ideas, but this initiative was able to recognize the truth of Islam, and its members and all that they do to the rest of the citizens in the city of Toronto. " 
he joined the mayor Toure both conservative Patrick Broaon MP and the city's mayor , Raymond Shaw to participate in this noble project. 
Ahmed said Tala, one of the organizers of this project, that each basket includes "amounts of rice, pasta, flour, lentils, chickpeas and halal meat, dates, and cans of tuna , " noting that the value of each basket is around $ 50 US, these funds have been collected from the donations of Muslims. It is 
noteworthy that these baskets will be presented to each of the Center for Muslim Welfare and other charitable organizations such as the Organization "salvation Army."
