World Health Assembly adopts a resolution on the health conditions in Palestine



GENEVA (Ina) - adopted by the World Health Assembly, at its sixty - ninth session in Geneva on Wednesday (May 25, 2016), introduced a draft Palestinian resolution condemning Israel 's treatment of prisoners and attacks on medical personnel and ambulances and the storming of medical centers, and stresses the right of Palestinians to receive treatment, and addresses Health situation in Palestine in general. 
He said Palestinian Minister of Health , Dr. Jawad Awad that 107 countries voted in favor of theresolution, as voted 8 countries against him, and declined another 8 from the vote, while absent from thevote 61 countries. the 
minister Awad and addressed the Assembly in which he talked about the challenges and obstacles facing the health sector in Velstinn he said the full geographical separation carried out by the occupying between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the presence of hundreds of military checkpoints in theWest Bank between the provinces, cities and villages constitute without doubt an obstacle to communicate health and follow - up and monitoring, and also be a hindrance provide curative and preventive services.

noteworthy that the World Health Assembly is the highest decision - making body of the World Health Organization. The Assembly meets once every year, with the participation of delegations from all Member States of the Organization, and their main function to determine the organization 's policies.
