BEIRUT (Ina) - General Commander of the peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon ,"UNIFIL" Gen. Luciano Portolano said that "despite the serious breaches, all individuals working in UNIFIL from disposing managed professionally and responsibly."
In his speech, during a ceremony held by UN troops United to mark the International day for the peacekeepers of the United Nations, said Portolano that "since the founding of " UNIFIL "sacrificed over civilian and military peacekeepers three hundred lives for the cause ofpeace in southern Lebanon."
he was quoted by the Jordan news agency as saying : "We thank the the Lebanese army and other security forces , who make up the strategic partner for "UNIFIL" in the application ofUN resolution 1701 ".
He expressed his deep gratitude to the Lebanese religious and political authorities and thepeople in south Lebanon for their continued support for" UNIFIL. "
