"World Health": Syria universally dangerous for the lives of health workers



GENEVA (Ina) - (May 20, 2016), said that the occurrence of attacks in Syria at an alarming rate, making it the most dangerous place in the world on the lives of health workers, and reduce their presence in theWorld Health Organization said on Friday. 
The organization added in a statement, said that " attacks are not limited to health workers and health facilities only, it risks to workers and patients and health facilities as well, deliberate denial of access todrugs and treatment to the beleaguered population, cut water and electricity supplies, which limits the ability of health facilities to work. " 
She continued," the thousands people die every year, not as a direct result of the violence, but because the environment in which they are located, are dangerous to the health care providers. " 
in a related context, the World Organization pointed out , that the attacks against health workers andhealth facilities in Afghanistan rose by 50 percent in 2015 
it reported that it is working in collaboration with its partners, to establish a data collection for attacks targeting health workers, health facilities, and transportation system, and patients in complex emergencies, pointing out that they will use this information to find out the attacks patterns, finding ways for concrete avoided or reduce the possibility of obstructing the delivery of health care. 
In the same statement, Aladdin Alwan, director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean region , said that "there are laws and agreements clearly states that no attacks on health workers and health facilities, but the parties do not bother to comply such laws and conventions. "
