JEDDAH: An official source at the Jordanian Royal Court has stressed the full support of Jordan for the Saudi-led Islamic Alliance in the war on terrorism.

The spokesman explained that Jordan was one of the early supporters and participants in the alliance and he emphasized the strength of the relations between the two countries, a local publication reported.
The source said in a press statement, according to Jordan’s Petra News Agency, that what news outlets have circulated lately regarding comments ascribed to King Abdallah in the media was taken out of its context with the aim of harming Jordan and its historic relations with a brotherly and friendly country.
The source emphasized the pride and honor of Jordan in the historic relations established with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its standing alongside Jordan in various circumstances, reaffirming the importance of addressing the threat of terrorism through enhanced joint Arab and Islamic efforts.
In another related issue, a number of students from more than 60 Arab and Islamic states who are on postgraduate studies at the Islamic University in Madinah have commented positively on the formation of the Islamic Alliance to fight terrorism, and the positive feedback this has received on the regional and international forums.
They also expressed pride in the leading role played by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in fighting this evil ideology which contradicts the principles of Islam and all the values and norms of humanity as well as international conventions.
The students were speaking at the opening of the 5th Festival of Cultures and Peoples organized by the deanship of student affairs at the university. It involves the participation of more than 60 countries from different continents. The students asserted that the exercise recently carried out under the name “North Thunder” established evidence of the success of the alliance to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
A student from the faculty of Shariah at the university, Abdullah AlHaji from Bahrain, said the Islamic Alliance represented one form of the remarkable joining together of Islamic countries to defeat terrorism, noting the support of the leadership of the Kingdom for his country in its efforts to combat such a scourge. Another student, Anwar Afifi from Egypt, said that the Arab Islamic Alliance reflected the existence of a unified stance against such evils.
A student from Mauritania, Yahya Abdeen, described the Islamic military alliance launched from Saudi Arabia as an important and timely action because of the spread of terrorism in a number of Arab and Islamic states. Another student said: “The Islamic Alliance instilled optimism in us based on the existence of an Islamic force to stand in the face of anyone who wants to threaten the stability and security of the Arab and Islamic nations.”
Other students also pointed to the role of Saudi Arabia in fighting terrorism and thanked the government of the Kingdom for its efforts to serve Islam and Muslims.
