ANKARA (Ina) - A senior Turkish official Saturday said that authorities spotted coded messages sent by the followers of Fethullah Gulen lives in the United States before the coup attempt failed in July 15, revealed to Ankara , the names of tens of thousands in the network Gulen .
He said the Turkish official told reporters , asking not to identified because of the sensitivity of theinformation, that the Turkish national intelligence Service began to unzip the code letters that were sent to "Baylock" application in May of last year .
He explained that the device known through those letters the names of about 40 thousand followers ofGulen including 600 senior army commanders .
the official added that " a large number of people who have been determined their identities by applying Baylock directly involved in the coup attempt ."
he added that since December 2013 used to follow the Gulen encrypted messaging applications to communicate in secret, and began using the application Baylock in 2014 .
the official said , "Baylock data enabled us to identify their network or at least a large part of it . and then switched to use another application when they realized he was intercepted Baylock."
said Turkish officials said up to the time of the coup attempt was a coup communicating through theapplication Watts August rolling on a large scale .
