Italy provides about $ 20 million in pledges to fund humanitarian aid to Syria and neighboring countries



ROME (Ina) Italy announced on Wednesday, to provide a financial boost from its obligations in the fourth international conference of donors for the benefit of the Syrian people, to finance the aid and the activities of humanity in Syria and neighboring countries, according to broadcast and Kuwaiti news agency "KUNA". 
The Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: " The government adopted emergency funding, for a total amount of about 19 ​​million euros (20 million and 921 thousand dollars), allocated 14.7 million euros (16 million and 184 thousand dollars) for the benefit ofhumanitarian projects undertaken by non - governmental organizations Italian inside Syria and in Lebanon and Jordan . " 
She explained: this funding also includes four million euros (four million and 403 thousand dollars), will be distributed evenly between the United Nations children's Fund" UNICEF " theinternational Committee of the Red Cross, in order to support the emergency response of the two organizations efforts in education, child care and health sectors , while activities in Lebanon and Jordan focused on youth, education and income - generation and employment opportunities and vocational training, in order to alleviate the burdens of immigration in both countries. 
She explained that this funding and other humanitarian initiatives , "among a wider range of measures package", fall under the obligations of Italy, announced by Minister Foreign Paulo Jantelaun in donors hosted by London during the month of February, $ 400 million Conference, over three years.
