A man escapes from the cockpit of the hijacked EgyptAir plane at Larnaca airport in Cyprus. The aircraft, originally destined for Cairo, was given permission to land on the island at 5.50am and local security services secured the area around the aircraft. Before the man’s escape passengers were released. The drama ended with the release of the remaining crew and passengers and the hijacker’s arrest by Cypriot police
