Female graduates seek online employment

ABHA: Women graduates in Asir say they are looking for private companies to hire them for online jobs which can be done at home.
They asked businessmen to open new production lines for women in both factories and banks.
The women said that this would contribute to hiring of female graduates in new fields, and to opening new chances for employing women in the region.
These suggestions and ideas came during the closing day of a career exhibition organized by the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry at which participating companies offered various jobs to women in the fields of management, marketing, education and health.
Sarah Al-Maamari said that she had applied for a management job.
Fatima Al-Bargi wanted a job that was not in a mixed environment “because it is not socially acceptable.”
Najla Asiri said that many women came to event every year in the hope of finding a job. She stressed the importance of the role that businessmen play in opening new production lines in the industrial field. “This field does not have the same opportunity for women as the fields of education and health,” she said.
Qadraa Hasan and Makyeh Al-Suwaidi said that female graduates looked forward to getting jobs since women now are needed to provide for their families and thus they must have an income; efforts should be made in cooperation with the private and public sectors for jobs in tourism, banks and industries.

Abdullah Al-Zahrani, secretary general of the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the chamber specified the last days of the exhibition for families in order to open up opportunities to female graduates to apply to the various companies that participated in the exhibition.
He confirmed that the closing day witnessed a large number of women attending. He also added that the Abha chamber wanted to present equal job opportunities. He said that government policy is supportive of women’s employment.
