The US says that Syrian president Bashar al-Assad is ‘deluded’ if he thinks there is a military solution to the war in Syria. Speaking in an interview while peace talks are taking place, Assad said on Friday that he would retake the whole of Syria. Commenting on the interview, the US state department says the only thing Assad would achieve is more bloodshed and hardship for the Syrian people
