King Salman center launches plan to develop youth skills
DAMMAM: The King Salman Youth Center (KSYC) has launched a new
initiative called the Khattet Plan, which seeks to rehabilitate young
people by training them to develop and organize their personal life
skills in various areas.
The initiative, which will be carried
out during the next three months, includes five sessions covering life
skills such as dreams and reality, planning and scheduling, saving and
investment, communication skills and measuring personal improvement.
In
its second phase, Khattet will travel to four of the Kingdom’s major
cities, beginning at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
Prominent speakers include Ibrahim Alawi, Khaled Al-Saber, Kamal Abdulaal, Fahd Al-Snidi and Ibrahim Niyaz.
According
to KSYC Executive Director Hani Al-Muqbil, “KSYC is concerned with
supporting and empowering youth in our society and encouraging their
entrepreneurial spirit.
“We aim to participate in developing a
creative and determined generation by supporting youth initiatives,
adopting their ideas, promoting their spirit of participation and urging
them to work hard.”
The Khattet initiative that grew out of a study
by KSYC showed that 74 percent of Saudi youth believe that planning is
complicated and needs special understanding.
“This is why we have
come up with this series of lectures to increase the awareness among
youth about planning concepts in different areas, in addition to
supporting them with the right skills to plan and execute their own
goals,” Al-Muqbil said.
He said that Khattet is the first national
youth planning initiative, which has seen great developments this year,
stressing that KSYC would expand Khattet to cover new areas in the
coming years.
