Incredible India Education Fairs (IIEF) attracts Indonesian Students

The Incredible India Education Fair organized in Jakarta on 18-19 September 2015 was successful as large number of students showed interest in Indian Universities. A total of 14 Indian universities viz. Christ University, Bengaluru; S P Jain School of Global Management, Singapore;K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai; Anna University, Chennai; SRM University,Chennai; Rajalakshmi Institutions, Chennai; Hindustan University, Chennai; PSG Institutions, Coimbatore; Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore; AIMS, Bengaluru; OP Jindal GlobalUniversity, Sonipat; Adamas University, Kolkata; Acharya Bangalore Business School and BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru participated in the fair. While inaugurating the fair,Mr. Manish, Deputy Chief of Mission said that Indonesia is going to become fourth largest economy by 2050. It will grow rapidly and will need huge number of skilled workforce. Indian Universities can help in skill development and capacity building. He also informed that Government of India is already running vocational training centers in Jakarta and Aceh which are model institutes. The Government of India has offered to set up one more Vocational Training Center in Indonesia. The participating Universities were overwhelmed by the huge response from the students and their drive to excel. More than 2300 students came to the fair and inquired about the courses being offered by the Universities. The Universities are still receiving queries from the students. Earlier on 17 September 2015, the representatives of 14 Indian Universities held B2B meeting with 16 Indonesian Universities in the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The Indian Universities received positive response from Indonesian counterparts for collaboration in student exchange programs, Dual Degree Programs, Joint Research and sharing of experience. The Embassy of India in Indonesia partnered with Mr Ravi Makhija, a local education consultant, Confederation of Indian Industry and Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Republic
of Indonesia (RISTEK DIKTI) in organizing IIEF 2015 which is a part of Sahabat India
-Festival of India in Indonesia 2015’.
