Affordable deal

This is with reference to the report “Smartphone sell for SR100 in Riyadh” (March 19). There is no need to raise alarm, as people who buy those products are aware that they are not purchasing a genuine thing. Thanks to China, people can buy smartphones at affordable prices. People who buy smartphones for cheap know that it is not a long-term investment and that within a few months they will be looking to buy a new cell phone but it is all about affordability. Everybody cannot afford to buy expensive smartphones of famous brands. 

The authorities should promote legal production of such devices at the local level.
