Random labor inspections not allowed: Ministry

JEDDAH: An inspector can neither enter any business establishment without using the official channels nor has the right to inquire about wages or salaries, the Ministry of Labor has said.
In a post on its Twitter account, the ministry said an inspector cannot make random or individual visits, or make such visits outside the working hours of an establishment or wearing informal outfit, local media reported on Sunday.
The ministry recently issued guidelines on the dos and don’t of inspection visits. It aims to make transparent the inspection procedures and eliminate behavior that is contrary to the labor regulations.
Meanwhile, the ministry is continuing with the training of 1,305 students at the secondary education level at 25 technical and industrial colleges and institutes in Asir and affiliated provinces.
