RIYADH: A recent report released by the Ministry of Labor revealed that the number of violations registered on the ministry’s electronic program “Together for Monitoring” in the months of December 2015 and January 2016 amounted to 484, of which 157 were related to delayed wages and salaries, accounting for 32 percent of the total number of complaints. Violations regarding expatriates working in jobs allocated to Saudis amounted to 42.
The report indicated that the violations included not providing mandatory medical insurance for workers, as well as some foreigners working at places other than with their original employers, working without signing a legal work contract, in addition to other reports involving various labor issues.
The number of visitors to the portal was 4,296, while the number of ideas and proposals posted on the portal was 100. Each idea or proposal that receives more than 50 votes will be considered for implementation.
The number of visitors to another portal, “Together for the Decision” amounted to 7,463, with the number of comments on the portal reaching 377, all of which will be submitted to officials in the ministry.
Other portals, including "Together for Awareness” also invited high levels of public activity.
The electronic portal “Together” seeks to increase government transparency and aims to improve the performance of the Ministry of Labor and the related bodies including the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, the General Organization for Social Insurance, as well as the Human Resources Development Fund.
