NEW YORK (Ina) - took France officially on Wednesday (June 1, 2016), the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for the current month , replacing Egypt.
Under the Charter of the United Nations, the responsibility of the Security Council President, is themaintenance of international peace and security, and to all States Members of the United Nations compliance with Council resolutions.
It consists of the Council of 15 members , each member has one vote, including five permanent members with veto "veto", and ten non - permanent members elected for two years by the General Assembly.
