UN calls for the attention of the widows in the world more



NEW YORK (Ina) - The Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki - moon, on Thursday (June 23, 2016) to pay attention to the widows more in the community, on the occasion of the International Day of widows. 
, Said Ban Ki - moon in a letter Thursday that there were about 259 million widows in various around theworld currently, half of them almost living in poverty and are exposed widows are often stigmatized by their families and communities, and suffer many of them from discrimination because of age, gender, living some life dominated by physical and sexual abuse, according to the UN news Center. 
He said Ban Ki - moon the ill - treatment of widows and their children constitute a violation of the most serious violations of human rights and an obstacle of obstacles to development at the moment, pointing out that millions of widows in the world suffer from extreme poverty, exclusion and violence, homelessness, illness and discrimination by law and custom. 
in recognition of the special status of widows of all ages and regions and cultures, the General Assembly of the United Nations announced on June 23, 2011 the first international day of widows. 
the Secretary - General noted in his letter that older widows are often dependent on limited economic resources, after having consumed the ages in hard work did not earn her reward.
