Organization of Islamic Cooperation calls on the authorities in Myanmar to investigate the destruction of the mosque



Jeddah (Ina), unidentified people on Thursday, June 23, 2016 to destroy parts of the mosque and its facilities in the complex under construction in Thaithaman village in Paju area near the center of Myanmar. 
According to reliable sources, the attack took place after a dispute about the building under construction in the mosque compound. The attack caused injury to a Muslim man wounded and is currently receiving treatment for head injuries in hospital. It was further reported that the authorities are now in control of the situation, but the residents of the village of Muslims who fled after the assault incident and afraid to return to their homes .
It urged the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Amin Madani, the Myanmar authorities to take strict measures and to open an immediate investigation into this incident and bring the perpetrators to justice, while ensuring that victims receive thenecessary assistance .
the Secretary - General stressed that the failure to investigate the circumstances of theattack would send a disturbing message that attacks on religious minorities can continue unpunished. 
he added that the government should belong to the national Association for democracy to condemn this attack, especially because it happened during the holy month of Ramadan, and to condemn as well as other attacks on religious minorities and to clarify that this violence is a criminal offense will not be tolerated .
