ABHA: Gov. Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Asir region, ordered the formation of a working team in Bisha to address the status of the battered woman who recently shared her suffering on social networking sites.
Mohammed bin Sabrah will head the team, which will include the police chief, the director of health affairs, director of the Social Affairs Center, the director of the charity society and the shelter supervisor.
The supervisor general of media affairs in the provincial governor's office and the official spokesman of the emirate, Saad bin Abdullah Al-Thabet, explained in a press statement that the prince ordered the family, including the mother, daughters and a son who suffers disability, to be reunited with the disbursement of all benefits and assistance paid to the father from social insurance for the whole family.
He said each member of the family would have an independent card and help, including the injured son. He pointed that they addressed the charities to provide urgent aid and subsidies for the family.
The emirate spokesman also called on the nearest comprehensive rehabilitation center in the Asir region to receive the disabled son as soon as possible due to his urgent needs, as well as the transfer of the mother and her daughters to the province’s shelter, until a suitable residence, that ensures them a decent and stable living, can be found for them.
Al-Thabet said, "A committee has been formed to address the battered wife’s case in the hospital, and the case has been studied in accordance with Social Affairs studies. All the paperwork has been put in one file to take the necessary recommendations to resolve the case from the outset."
The official spokesman of the Emirate of Asir called on all segments of society to cooperate to resolve such issues, and work with Social Affairs and relevant agencies in alleviating the problems of social issues to ensure a safe community free from domestic violence issues.
