General Authority for Statistics: Total number of pilgrims exceeds 1.85 million


Makkah (IINA) – The General Authority for Statistics said that the total number of pilgrims exceeded 1.8 pilgrims, until 5:00pm of Tarwiyah (Watering) Day, Dhul Hijjah 8.
It explained that, until 5:00 of Saturday evening, the total number of pilgrims who arrived in Makkah for the Hajj pilgrimage accounted to 1.855.406 pilgrims, 1.325.372 of them representing those who arrived from outside Saudi Arabia, 199.922 representing domestic pilgrims coming from different parts of the Kingdom to Makkah through its six entry gates, while the number of pilgrims from inside Makkah reached 330.112 pilgrims.
The General Authority for Statistics added that the number of Saudi pilgrims out of the total number of pilgrims accounted to 165.599 pilgrims so far, while the number of non-Saudis out of the total number of pilgrims, so far, stood at 1.689.807 pilgrims, coming from outside and within the Kingdom.
The total number of male pilgrims so far amounted to 1.076.698 pilgrims, while the number of female pilgrims reached 778.708 pilgrims until now. Pilgrims are still streaming into Mecca through its outlets all entry gates.
The General Authority for Statistics stated that the process of counting the number of pilgrims is ongoing, and will stop on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. Makkah local time (Dhul Hijjah 9). Thereafter, the total number of the three basic paths for counting the number of foreign pilgrims, home pilgrims and pilgrims from within Makkah will be announced.
