Flights between Sharm el-Sheikh and Britain on Wednesday evening are to be delayed to allow a team of UK experts to assess security arrangements in place at the airport, the No 10 spokesman added.
The prime minister, David Cameron, is to chair a meeting of the government’s Cobra emergencies committee later in the evening to review the situation.
