Aim higher: Mohammed tells students on UAE Flag Day

"Our flag is a symbol of our unity and strength. It is our duty to protect it. As part of our responsibilities towards our country, we need to work harder, strive for greater achievements and commit to protecting our country. It is our duty to constantly strive for greater excellence in all aspects," His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said after hoisting the UAE flag at Al Khor Park, Dubai, to mark the Flag Day on Tuesday.
Addressing the 5,000 students of 100 nationalities who participated in the event, Shaikh Mohammed said: "You are the future. You can celebrate the UAE flag not only by hoisting it but also by studying harder and developing your creativity and innovation. We want you to be successful as you are our future leaders."
Shaikh Mohammed said the event is an occasion to celebrate national values and remind citizens of their responsibilities towards their country.
The Flag Day coincides with the anniversary of the accession of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to presidency.
