Your Dec. 21 editorial “Syria’s Yellow Brick Road” is a one-sided judgment of the Sept. 19 U.N. Security Council Resolution road map for Syria. It underlines Washington’s “concessions” to Moscow. It doesn’t ask what concessions Moscow gave, or remember that a bargain is mutually beneficial giving of this for that, not “concessions.”
The Obama administration has not given up its position that Bashar Assad must go, only that it’s no longer a precondition for a negotiated political transition. Vladimir Putin is not insisting...
