Nine people injured in Dubai villa fire

A fire in a villa in the Mirdif area of Dubai injured nine people on early morning on Monday, said a senior official at the Dubai Civil Defence.
The people sustained various injures as they were asleep while the fire erupted.
The operation Room of the Dubai Civil Defence was informed about the fire at 1.53am. A rescue team of the Dubai Police and firefighters from the Dubai Civil Defence rushed to the scene and found that there were people trapped in the three-storied villa under fire.
A maid, who was trapped in her room, suffered severe burns and was rushed to the hospital. Two others tried to jump off the first floor of the villa and broke their legs, said the official.
Firefighters from Rashidya and Qusais civil defence stations managed to control the fire in 15 minutes and prevented the flames from spreading to other villas in the vicinity.
