The perception in Beijing is that with an impasse on the South China
Sea, the US is investing more in building ties with China's neighbours,
making up for a decade lost in distractions in West Asia and notions of
a "G2" that have been belied by Beijing's assertiveness. For India,
this presents new strategic opportunities.
