"OIC" rejects Human Rights Council resolution on sexual orientation and gender identity



Jeddah (Ina) - rejected the Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly decision on "protection from discrimination and violence because of their sexual orientation and gender identity," adopted by theHuman Rights Council finally at the end of its second session. 
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Amin Madani's strong commitment to the organization combating all forms of violence and discrimination against any person or group for any reason, and reiterated the firm commitment of the Organization 's position that theconcept of sexual orientation concept of an outsider on the international norms and standards of human rights, as well as being contrary and inconsistent with the fundamental principles is not a Muslim communities only, but also for many other religious and cultural communities.

and supported a number of countries not members of the Organization of Islamic cooperation in Asia, Africa, Europe and the point of view of the organization, enabling the introduction of some amendments key to the resolution, and that such advocate the importance of respect for national, regional and religious particularities, and to avoid external pressure or coercive measures to avoid influencing the attitudes and convictions of many countries, and the need to be the implementation of the resolution in accordance with national laws and in conformity with international human rights law recognized globally. 
he urged civilians UN member states to avoid the introduction of such concepts and ideas to the forum the UN, because it has no legal basis in international human rights law, and have a direct impact on thesocial, cultural and religious sensitivities of a large group of Members of the United Nations. 
he warned such steps would lead to further polarization within the human rights Council, and toundermine the important work undertaken by the Council in its quest to build international human rights law , said the manner in cooperation and consensus. it 
should be noted that the second session of the Council of ministers State , which was held in Kuwait on 27 and may 28 , 2015, had unanimously opposed the resolution adopted by the human rights Council earlier on "human rights and sexual orientation and gender identity" and announced its refusal to clear him.
