Lankan constitution

The allegation by some opposition parties in Sri Lanka that the new constitution will dilute the main religion, Buddhism, in the country is baseless. It only reflects the frustration of these people.
We are living in a global village and the new Sri Lankan government is moving in the right direction. The move will definitely strengthen democracy and will augur well for the island country in terms of peace and growth. Religion should be a personal affair in today’s world, which has become very competitive and progressive. Countries like Sri Lanka — where the wounds of war are still fresh — need inclusive growth, unity and peace to realize their true potential.
