Iran ready to provide industrial expertise to Ghana

TEHRAN – Iran has made good progress in the fields of dam construction, electricity generation, and industrial agriculture and does not hesitate to provide Ghana with industrial expertise, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday.

“The way is paved for the expansion of ties between Iran and Ghana”, Larijani said in a meeting in Tehran with Ghanaian Foreign Minister Hanna Tetteh.

Trade and economy are the two important fields in which the two countries can collaborate bilaterally, he added.

On Tuesday, Tetteh met with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and attended a joint press conference.

“The Islamic Republic attaches significance to its ties with Africa, Zarif said in the press conference, adding, “Since [the victory of] the Islamic Revolution, we have considered Africa to be an important continent, and believe we have many commonalities.”

“Iran attaches great importance to relations with member states to the Non-Aligned Movement and the African countries,” Zarif further noted.

Moreover, Zarif said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has invited Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama to take a trip to Iran.
